Dobermann breed

Physical characteristics

It is a medium-sized dog, robust and muscular, with elegant lines and a noble and haughty bearing. The head has the shape of an elongated cone, the craniofacial lines are parallel, the stop is light and the muzzle is deep.

The eyes are medium and oval. The ears have a high set and the animal brings them upright, if they are whole they fall to the sides of the head, with the edges well attached to the cheeks. The loin is short and solid. The limbs are straight and plumb. The tail is amputated leaving two vertebrae.

The coat is short, very close and smooth, black or brown with fire. Blue is no longer bred because it carries severe genetic defects.

The size in males ranges from 68 to 72 cm, for a weight from 40 to 45 kg., In females, from 63 to 68 cm, for a weight from 32 to 35 kg; intermediate sizes are the most sought after.

Character and behavior

He is one of the sweetest and most sensitive dogs in the world. He does everything for his owner, with whom he has to live closely, leaving him alone in the garden would ruin his character.

We hear a lot about the Doberman with claims that this dog "goes crazy" around the age of seven due to poor cranial capacity (one of the greatest absurdities, from a scientific point of view). From the findings received over time it appears that there are very rare cases of dogs with uncontrolled ferocity.

The Dobermann is very affectionate with family members and safe with children (provided they do not bother him too much), with strangers he maintains the typical confidentiality of defense dogs. A balanced specimen, like all those raised with good breeders, will never behave aggressively for any reason, and will show itself as a splendid companion dog devoted to its owner.

Start training yours dobermann puppy the day you take it home. Even at eight weeks, he is able to absorb anything you can teach him. Don't wait for him to turn 6 months to start training him or you will have a more stubborn dog to deal with. If possible, take him to a coach when he is 10-12 weeks old and socialize with him a lot.

Keep in mind, however, that many puppy training courses require some vaccinations (such as canine cough) to be up to date and many vets recommend limited exposure to other dogs and in public places until puppy vaccinations (including rabies, distemper, and parvo) have been completed.

Before a professional training, you can start training your puppy at home and socialize with family and friends until the puppy's vaccinations are complete.

Talk to the breeder, describe exactly what you are looking for in a dog and ask for help selecting a puppy. Breeders can give incredibly accurate advice once they know something about your lifestyle and personality. Regardless of what you want from a Doberman, look for one whose parents have pleasant personalities and who have had a lot of socialization since childhood.

    We couldn't have chosen better.
Professionalism and availability on the part of Giovanni who still advises us on the growth of Chloe.
Dog defined as excellent by various veterinarians both from the bone and genealogical point of view and from the side
    ... More temperamental.
Wonderful with the whole family but has an unconditional love towards our daughters.
Intelligent and very predisposed to training.
At one year of age, naturally, she became an excellent watchdog.
    Highly recommended.

4 years ago I contacted Giovanni for the purchase of my first dog; a beautiful black and tan Doberman. He and his partner immediately inspired me with a lot of trust and showed love and seriousness for their work. The puppy was in his prime ... More conditions and all the documentation was handed over to me. They also gave me lots of useful tips on how to manage the puppy. I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in buying a Doberman. Highly recommended.
